Style the life you want to live.

I’m happy to introduce myself – Hi. I’m Beth. I’m a creative at heart driven by ideas, learning + discovery. I’m also a self-development and health + wellness enthusiast and have learned that the best way to influence people is to live by example, so I aim to do that here on USimplyBeam.

Style the life you want to live is the theme behind USimplyBeam. Coming to realize that I’m not made of one idea but of many ideas, interests, and tastes has allowed me the freedom to embrace my style. I find an eclectic lifestyle beautiful.

I’m passionate about encouraging others to live an eclectic life, too, filled with style they call their own. Each day, I’m learning to let go of self-judgment and limiting beliefs. I share chapters of my story those that I’ve written and that I’m writing in hopes to encourage women of all ages to embrace their style to live the life they want to live.

I live in Columbus, Ohio with my husband, three teenage children, and one “party” dog named Eddie. We’ve lived in our home for 20 years, a length of time I didn’t expect when we bought our house. When I’m not blogging or helping others, I spend my time outdoors, practicing yoga/exercising, or researching the latest and greatest thing that interests me. I also enjoy fashion, design, traveling, and doing fun stuff with my family.

About USimplyBeam

USimplyBeam began mid-year 2014 when I desired to create a brighter and more improved me. I wanted to grow, try different things, and face new challenges. I wanted to learn by doing something I’ve never done before. I also knew I needed to get back to my roots of creating, organizing, and writing. My solution? Blogging. connects with all areas of my life serving as a pathway for self-development.

Since its launch, there have been many versions of USimplyBeam. Finding my vision to say the least has been a challenge. I’ve learned, though, that I’m a very “eclectic” person. I have many interests, ideas, tastes, and styles. There’s no way I can settle on one. A lifestyle blog, therefore, allows me the freedom to write about all things. My vision is to share my thoughts, ideas, and experiences aiming to encourage readers to grow, try different things, and face new challenges – no settling allowed.

USimplyBeam is a lot about learning to say Yes, unlearning perfectionism, having faith in the journey, and enjoying the many interests, styles, and tastes you have. I dedicate it to all readers outwardly seeking direction and guidance in their lives.

Join me! I’m excited to share my experiences with you. While my path has been exploratory and organic, it’s been the most fabulous journey thus far.

My Background

I have a degree in English with a concentration in technical writing from Wright State University. Receiving my college degree is one of my most proud moments. After graduating, I pursued a career in technical writing and project administration. I love writing and organizing.

In 2001, I made a bold decision to leave my career and dedicate my time to raising my family. Those 11 years are priceless, and I so miss my “little ones” being little. As life has it, though, children grow and family dynamics change. So in 2010, I began pursuing ways to return to my career. A challenge all its own. And, eventually, I accepted a position conducive to my family’s lifestyle.

In 2014, I felt restless and needed a challenge. Blogging became of interest to me, so I decided to start a blog to embrace my creativity and my desire to learn, a value I hold highly. A blessing in itself, USimplyBeam offers me a connection to all areas of my life.
